This workout was a tough 10 minutes, it nearly killed me, modified the workout as I am useless at pistol squats! did pendulum swings using my 26lb kettlebell 20 at the start then 10 there after, nearly completed four rounds just out by 4 low jacks. time for homework……. xx

I did three rounds and seven pistols in the ten minutes, but finished out the fourth round anyways!
I always tried to be active, but wasn’t super good at it for most of my life. After college I really wanted to keep up in my friends capture the flag games so I started being more deliberate. I was suspicious of most of the womens fitness stuff since so much of it seemed to be targeted at looking good in a bikini instead of health and capability. I’ve worked as a welder/farmer/woodworker, so keeping my core in particular strong is important to avoid pain and injury- so I wanted to find something, but most of the marketing wasn’t speaking to my goals. I got your name from a good source (this is about seven years ago while you were still a wee baby youtube channel 😉 ) and I could do your workouts in my little apartment if I moved the kitchen table over, so I caught on. I dabble in a lot of stuff (kettle bells, running, your material) and I belong to a roller derby team, so that’s my fitness journey in a nut shell!

Well I don’t have pistols yet..I thought of modifying the first exercise but instead I did the pistols assisted with a chair to at least work on the flow of the movement and the flexibility..so doing #1 took a while in every round..plus the dynamic burpees are just starting to happen for me even though the going up is slow (but no knees this time..full out!). I only managed to do two full rounds plus 10 dynamic burpees. I finished the 3rd round anyway…and the lifted butt homework 😀
with regards to keeping myself in shape..hmm…that’s a tough one. I always managed to do something active on a regular basis, capoeira, yoga, running, dancing etc but where I struggle most is keeping my diet clean and that’s what controls if I do well or not. I would say that on 2012 i got fed up of letting myself go and I made the decision to care..I started being extremely active and eating very clean..dropped 25 lb but I had no muscle or strength really (I was running a lot). Since then I have fluctuated a bit but in the past two year I would say I found my healthy normal. You have helped me tons to stay healthy with a job where I travel constantly (which makes it quiet challenging with the food). When you say “don’t sabotage your training with your diet” it makes me make the better choice for dinner and the workout schedule gets done no matter if I am in an airport! Thanks Z

Oh my gosh! Those pistols! Even though I can’t do a full pistol squat yet, I really enjoyed this workout, I managed 3 rounds, 4 dynamic burpees. For the pistols I use a support to help me get back up, but geez I still feel it! I will get the pistols down pat one day. Anyway, several times this year I’ve actually dreamt that I can do pistols and they’re so easy! Then I wake up lol. Does anyone else who struggles with pistol squats ever dream about being able to do them? I must say, it feels great when you nail them in your dreams 😆

OH MY GOSH, I’ve had that EXACT thing happen! Not with pistol squats, but with other stuff I’ve wanted to get down! I’ll dream it’s soooooo easy and that I’m doing it over and over…then wake up with the “awwwwww mannnnn!” feeling! LOL!!

Zuzka!!! It was too difficult to switch the legs then get up plus I couldn’t even get my balance, it was sooo frustrating, so I ended doing weighted pistols as usual. Besides that, I enjoyed the wo! xoxo

Hi Zuzka! I love your workouts! They have revolutionised my life! Sounds cheesy but it’s true. I just turned 30, and have always exercised. I was a gymnast when I was young, and then got into running and yoga… being active has always been important to me. However, I have had two children and have a very busy life and don’t have the time to devote to exercise like I used to. It just isn’t an option. Most of my twenties I also dealt with very poor body image/over exercising and a kind of eating disorder… I was always worried about food and gaining weight. Now, my weight is stable and I don’t think about it. I probably weigh 4-5 pounds more than I used to, but it’s all muscle. I have made a lot of effort over the years to cook more and develop better eating habits, just eating wholesome, homemade food for every meal with lots of fresh veggies, and I have to say that it is liberating to know that I can stay in shape without killing myself in the gym for two hours a day. Just twenty minutes! I feel energetic and vibrant, and my body is strong and very toned and probably the most in balance it has been for a long time, and I always look forward to my workouts, sweating out all the stress and gaining energy. Working out at least 5 days a week for me has become a non-negotiable thing, like brushing my teeth. Knowing my workouts used to be so long and punishing, it was always difficult to mentally gear myself up to actually do it… but now I don’t even have to think about it. I am so happy I discovered your workouts… I am sure when i have more time in the future I’ll get more seriously into practicing yoga and running, and maybe even dance, but your workouts will always be my bottom line, I know that they will always keep me at a high performance level and I don’t have to think about it so much. It just works for me. So THANK YOU SO MUCH for plugging on throughout the years, throughout all the difficulties you’ve had, for using your love for fitness and your creativity to put something great out there, I can’t even tell you the differences it has made. And I love that you are genuinely human, that you grunt through your workouts, that it isn’t always easy for you. I’m constantly inspired 🙂

OMG this was hard!!! I did not keep up with your I pushed myself so hard that I almost threw up but I kept going (at a slower pace of course). The next time this workout comes back I will be able to do pistol squats and keep up with you! 😀

I can’t do full pistols, so I did half way down for the first two rounds, then I found it would be more challenging to so all the way down squats, so I switched it up … and it was so that’s okay. Still my push ups are really weak, but I pushed harder to get the maximum results ! I completed 4 full rounds and 5 squats 🙂
