Workout Programs for Beginners

If you’re a beginner and you have just joined ZGYM™ for the first time, you should be focusing on building your strength and endurance via beginner workouts so that you can eventually progress to workout series such as Cardio Shred, Body Crush, Kettlebell Workouts,  Jump Rope Cardio, etc.

If you stay consistent and workout daily, you can get there in just a few weeks. Remember that everything takes time and practice, but nothing is impossible. EXERCISE DAILY!

Here’s a 12 week Cardio & Strength Starter Program – If this program turns out to be too hard, you can do the free 9 week  Bunny Slope Program for complete Beginners.

hey crafters, did my own sliders. I used wool (selfstriping colors ) and did crochet them in circles (like large coasters) and threw them in washing machine. Now it is felted and ready for my fitslide workouts.

    Hi Zuzka,

    Congratulations on your graduation!
I’m wondering why the blogs are done using Youtube, but Zgym workouts uses vimeo? I asked this for for my selfish reason, streaming vimeo is a pain with my internet connection (too much buffering) pausing and using lower quality is not helping. On the hand, watching the blogs is easy and enjoyable and almost no buffering. I’m trying to figure out what I can do, I signed up for zgym after watching the blogs without realising the zgym videos were in vimeo.

I can’t say for sure since I’m not Zuzka, but I think the video difference (Youtube for one, Vimeo for the other) might have to do with the subscription aspect. Vimeo has a set up so that subscribers can watch the videos, but locked for nonsubscribers. I don’t *think* youtube has anything like that (though I could be wrong…I’m no Youtube expert 😉 )!

Christin, thanks for answering. Vimeo is not helping with my “serenity now” practice. I’m using a boatload of choice words during my workout :).

I’m halfway through the Bunnyslope workouts. I would like to continue with the beginners series and was curious which you would recommend next – kettlebell basics or the cardio and strength starter program?

Either one of them is a great next step. It depends on your own preference and what equipment you want to use. The kettlebell basics is a great program for those who want to learn all the basic kettlebell exercises. Cardio and Strength starter is a program that uses dumbbells and your own bodyweight. The kettlebell basics is little less challenging in terms of cardio and strength – it’s more focused on learning proper form.

I definitely need to work on my cardio so I think I’ll do that one next and then the kettlebell basics. Thank you so much for your help!

I think I may be pregnant and was wondering about matcha as an alternative to coffee during pregnancy. Does anyone know if matcha is safe for pregnancy?

A teaspoon of matcha has about 60mg caffeine, about the same as an instant coffee. Personally I’d avoid it, though I imagine a couple of cups a day would be considered OK for most people. For me it wasn’t an issue as I couldn’t stomach tea or coffee during pregnancy anyway! Congratulations by the way!

Thank you. 😊 It’s not positive yet, but I’m highly suspicious. And if not now, then soon anyway since we’re trying. Coffee was the hardest thing for me to give up during my first pregnancy. Not really looking forward to having to do it again, despite the gift at the end of the rainbow. 😉

          Ooh congratulations!!
I love my coffee too. During my last pregnancy I mixed decaf with regular to cut down on caffeine but I only drank about 1- 2 cups of coffee any way. There was a little while during the first trimester I didn’t have the stomach for coffee though. Good luck!!

Thank you! 😊 I may have to see about finding some Postum. It’s a coffee alternative that I had while doing a meditation retreat at a Buddhist monastery years ago. It’s wheat bran based, so maybe not low-carb? But having a hot cuppa sumpin in the morning will make me far less grouchy. 😉
