Weekly ZGYM Workout Schedule - The Week of December 18th

Workout Schedules | December 17, 2017

Hey guys,

I don’t have a video for you this week, but I do have something for you to think about. What kind of workouts/training methods would you like to see in the ZGYM in 2018? What type of equipment would you like to see more or is there any that we haven’t used yet? What is it that you’d want to work on, and improve in terms of your fitness and well being in this upcoming year? Let me know in the comments below, and I hope you guys will have a wonderful week. Don’t miss a day!

Workout Programs for Beginners

If you're a beginner and you have just joined ZGYM™ for the first time, you should be focusing on building your strength and endurance via beginner workouts so that you can eventually progress to workout series such as Cardio Shred, Body Crush, Kettlebell Workouts,  Jump Rope Cardio, etc.

If you stay consistent and workout daily, you can get there in just a few weeks. Remember that everything takes time and practice, but nothing is impossible. EXERCISE DAILY!

Here's a 12 week Cardio & Strength Starter Program - If this program turns out to be too hard, you can do the free 9 week  Bunny Slope Program for complete Beginners.

Hi Zuzka, thank you so much for asking! I’d love to see:
    1) More heartbreaker body workouts. I love that series and there are few workouts to choose from
    2) A series inspired by martial arts movements. Just as you did with Ballet (Legs like a Dancer) 🙂
    3) What about a “Winter” series? We have the Summer Shred Series and it was really hard for me to do those workouts when I was in deep winter in my country… I think it would be nice to choose according to the weather
Have a great week everybody! 🙂

I’d love to see some ‘back to basics’ workouts with the minimum of equipment and transitions, but that will really challenge advanced members. E.g. the Kettlebell series is still brilliant three years on, so more of those would be fab. I still do them, but now just use 14-20kg, rather than 12kg. Kettlebells are low impact, quiet, great for cardio, strength, upper and lower body, and don’t require lots of space so they fit lots of criteria! I love some of the inventive combinations you used in the early series, such as the overhead press with hip circles or windmills, and the push up to Kettlebell drag. Combining the beast for lower body with a regular weight for upper body would be great. And an obligatory heavy swing buy in for every workout!

I’d love some more inferno style workouts too.

Thank you for asking for our feedback 😊

I really liked that 8 min tabata workout you did last week, more like that would be great! I think we need more cardio in general. I also love anything with a kb (the jump rope kb were my fav workouts). I also do my workouts in the morning, so anything that’s quick and effective is perfect!

I’d definitely want to see more kettlebell workout which is hopefully more intermediate class since we already have for beginners.
And more sliders workout would be so so nice!! (absolutely LOVE kettlebell & sliders)

I found that sliders-workout is actually harder than it appears to be, especially using weights or yoga blocks.
You can target deeper range of motion which means the body has to work harder so we can get stronger.

I also would like to see the shorter workout like one of those Tabata workouts!!

    Thanks, Zuzka!!

I really enjoy all the variety you give us and what we currently do. Definitely keep the cardio, stretch & tones, handstand work and flexibility work I think it greatly is needed and helps me with everything else. Also we still need those hardcore days of cardio mixed w kettle bells and weights and a good old fashioned body weight cardio day. I keep improving on my flexibility, I’d like to try doing some of those impressive, advanced yoga poses next year. Like scorpion, back bends into wheel, sort of yoga/gymnastics based would be fun and challenging. Also, since I am from a small town and we don’t get as much exposure to big city type programs, I’d luv it if you would keep us up to date on the styles of workouts going on in the world. I know California has a taste of everything that one may be looking for! I like hearing about different types of workouts I could try. I am taking my Ariel yoga course in the spring which I am excited for, and have purchased a pair of kangoo jumps which I’ve been incorporating weekly into my schedule which has been a great low impact heart pumping cardio. Thanks so much for all you give us Zuzka I will forever be a warrior with you 💛

Wow! I think there are a lot of good suggestions, already! 🙂 Really, I’ve loved everything that’s been in here. The variety you give us is superb!

One thing I would add to all the other great suggestions (though I guess it’s “chime in”! lol!…I see others have mentioned it, above!)…I’ve loved it whenever you incorporate the kicks in your workouts. Some of those workouts are my favorites! I’ve been slipping in a little kickboxing to my workout weeks here and there, and that would make a dream workout (or series!) to see here…mixing in kicks AND punches! And talk about the stress release! 😜 I used to train daily in Martial Arts, years ago, but moving far from the studio (oof, and the cost involved), it’s been a while…and so when I’ve picked back up on punching combinations — especially adding in uppercuts and hammer strikes — I can feel it in my back muscles the next day (so there’s some muscles in there I must just not be QUITE hitting, otherwise!) And I know a series wouldn’t be anything fancy like blackbelt level or anything…there’s everyone to think about, after all! But, like with all your workouts, the more advanced can tweak some of the moves to make it work for ALL levels! 🙂

I also second bringing back some of the yoga series! I know nothing about yoga and have found some of the moves (crow, flying pigeon, etc) challenging and fun…and what a sense of accomplishment when finally achieving them!

Oo, and as an extra…I’ve loved the last few months the little extra Instagram challenges/contests! It feels like a little extra motivational push! I’d love to see those continue every now and then next year!

My *personal* improvements, I’ve already been starting on…working on my puny upper-body strength! 😜 I’ve come a LONG way on pull ups, but I really want to get them from a dead hang. I’ve been working on them as my “homework”. I’ve also added in pushups, daily, as I fatigue rather quickly on them (and after so many, I have to hit the floor in between pushups). I want to have them flawless and have been setting reminders on my watch to get up and do sets 4 times a day. I’m also planning to do the same with the pushup variations (scorpion, etc) to get them just right, too. I’m really wanting to hone in on fine-tuning my moves, in general…I want perfection! (Or as close as I can get! ) 😜

First of all , can’t wait for the new 300 rep killer wo this week and the jr and abs! I am also happy to see summer shred in this week’s schedule, those always kick my butt!!! As far as 2018 goes, I love the slider series and inferno is awesome. One of the series I miss a lot is killer legs, the tabata training is one of my favorite styles, really I love so many of the series that you’ve come up with so far. I am also a fan of an ab series, that’s why I am so looking forward to thursday with jr and abs. I know you will not let us down, you always manage to find new ways to kick all our asses one way or the other. I am very excited to be a part of it!!

Thank you so much for all you do!!

Actually just abs in Tabata style. For legs, it my be best as reps. Especially with adding kb/weights, and focusing on form.
